ACC Liverpool is set to host the five-day AIPC annual conference in July 2010.

29 Apr 10

AIPC - the International Association of Congress Centres - represents 180 members in more than 53 countries across the world and is attended by CEOs and senior managers from the world's most prestigious venues.  Hosting AIPC's annual conference is regarded as a major coup with Liverpool following in the footsteps of Quebec, Edinburgh, and Singapore.

BT Convention Centre's general manager, Jacquie Rogers, who was recently voted on to the board of AIPC will be showcasing the venue's dedicated facilities and globally acknowledged environmental credentials to the gathered meetings industry representatives.

AIPC's premise is to advance professionalism within the industry; the assembly in Liverpool will see keynote speakers address the impact of recession and regional governments' role in the events industry.

Keynote speakers will include economist Hamish McRae, Europe's foremost speaker in economics, business and society.  Will Hutton, recognised as one of the most influential voices on work, employment and organisation issues in the UK, will also address delegates.

Both speakers possess enviable credentials; Will Hutton spent four years as editor-in-chief of The Observer and remains a weekly columnist as well as an influential author with titles including The State We're, The State to Come, The Stakeholding Society and On The Edge, a groundbreaking analysis of globalisation.  Hamish McRae is the Economic Editor of The Independent and The Independent on Sunday newspapers, and the author of the acclaimed work on the future, The World in 2020: Power, Culture and Prosperity.

The forward thinking nature of the association and conference draws a congregation of journalists from across the world.

Hosting the AIPC annual conference will help position ACC Liverpool, not only as a world leading and primary conference destination, but a recognised venue for excellence in customer service and facilities.
