ACC Liverpool 'best of the best' at Tourism Awards

29 Sep 09 ACC Liverpool has won two top awards in the sixth annual England's Northwest Tourism Awards.
 
The venue, which includes the BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, was honoured for its Excellence in Business Tourism and Sustainable Tourism at a ceremony in Blackpool last night (Monday September 28th).
 
The awards are organised by the North West Regional Development Agency and aim to reward excellence in the tourism industry.
 
Judges praised ACC Liverpool for being "a beacon of best practice for sustainability, not just in its eco-friendly build but also its overall philosophy."
 
Felicity Goodey, chairwoman of Tourism England's Northwest, said: "These awards have set a very high benchmark for the industry over the past few years.
 
"These winners are some of the best of the best. They are delivering a distinctive product, outstanding quality and value for money – that’s why, even in the present economic climate, they continue to do so well."
 
ACC Liverpool will now have the opportunity to represent the Northwest in the national awards, organised by VisitEngland in April 2010.
