Conference business continues to look healthy in Liverpool
ACC Liverpool is to host The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) annual congress in April 2011.
Confirmation of the event reinforces the sectors' growing interest in ACC Liverpool and the city. Other recent health sector wins for the venue include National Cancer Research Institute and the European College of Sport Science.
The Royal College of Nursing event will see around 6000 delegates attracted to the city. The event will utilise both the BT Convention Centre and the Echo Arena, providing a unique combination of facilities for the four day congress. The RCN annual congress attracts nurses from across the UK and is aimed at promoting excellence in nursing practice and shaping health policies through debate.
ACC Liverpool's Head of Sales Kerrin MacPhie said: "The Royal College of Nursing have been working with Liverpool to bring their congress to us for over four years - even before we opened our doors. Their team understood from the outset that our venue would have the facilities to be able to accommodate their event in a professional manner and that our city has the passion to be the UK's leading congress destination".
Brian French, Conference and Events Manager for RCN Events said: "Liverpool is gaining quite a reputation for understanding the needs of health related symposiums. We are thrilled to be bringing our congress to a new venue in the Northwest. We have a significant number of RCN members in the region and taking Congress to Liverpool will bring us a whole new audience.
