Twitterers gather at Waterfront
17 Nov 09Liverpool's social media enthusiasts attended the city's first ever TweetUpNorth event at the BT Convention Centre on 16th November.
More than 50 twitterers attended the event which took the format of a forum for the region's professional community to share ideas on the use of social networking in business.
'TweetUpNorth' follows on from the success of similar events held in London.
Access to the event was available exclusively via Twitter, where followers of ACC Liverpool could RSVP their attendance by direct message (DM).
Ian Finch, managing director for Mando Group and Alison Gow digital executive editor for Liverpool Daily Post and Echo addressed the audience outlining the benefits and highlighting the impact of the social media tool in both of their respective sectors.
General Manager of BT Convention Centre Liverpool, Jacquie Rogers, said: "ACC Liverpool has always been at the forefront of new technology and innovation so it was fitting we held the Tweet Up North event at our venue.
"Due to the success of the event we hope to be hosting more in the near future."
