BT Convention Centre
The BT Convention Centre opened its doors in April 2008 soon after the grand opening of ACC Liverpool. It hosted more than 200 events, welcomed 71,000 delegates and saw conferences and events from the British Council of Shopping Centres Annual Conference to the Association of Teachers and Lecturers in its first year alone. The Liberal Democrats’ main autumn conference came to ACC Liverpool in 2010 – the first time the city had staged one of the main party political conferences.
BT Convention Centre has been awarded the title of ‘CONFEX Best UK Venue’ for the past two years running; it has also won ‘Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative' and recently picked up the ‘Most Effective Team’ prize at the Exhibition News awards.
The BT Convention Centre is a unique setting for conferences due to its incredible flexibility. The impressive main auditorium can comfortably sit 1350 delegates; two rotating drums – unique in England, can divide the space into up to three separate, self-contained spaces of 250 (x2) and 850 seats.
Surrounding the Auditorium are 18 breakout rooms containing top-of-the-range technology, with capacities ranging from ten to 500. Each room is equipped with the latest telecommunications and data network, cabling infrastructure, wireless LAN, digital audio/visual facilities and acoustic panels on the walls for excellent sound clarity. For banqueting functions and exhibitions, our versatile Multi-Purpose Hall (3725m2, with space for 1800 dinner guests) can easily accommodate any need. This, combined with the Echo Arena, gives event organisers 7000m2 of exhibition space.
